Cornelia Günther

Cornelia Günther (married Cornelia Mayer ) (born October 22, 1969 in Göttingen ) is a former German basketball player .

career

Günther rose in 1988 with the BG 74 Göttingen in the 1st women's basketball league . As a newcomer to the House of Lords, she missed relegation with the "Violets".

She also made promotion to the Bundesliga with VfL Marburg in 1992 . Günther scored the first basket for the Bundesliga newcomer in the first season game in 1992/93. In 1993 she moved into the DBB Cup final with VfL , but lost there. In 1993/94 she took part with Marburg in the European club competition Ronchetti Cup . Günther, known for her accuracy in the three-point throw, moved to Aschaffenburg in the run-up to the 1994/95 season within the Bundesliga. With Aschaffenburg she was German runner-up and cup winner in 1996 and 1997. She appeared with Aschaffenburg in 1995/96 in the European Cup Ronchetti Cup and in 1996/97 in the Euroleague .

In the 2002/03 season she succeeded (now as Cornelia Mayer) with the BG 74 Göttingen, the Bundesliga promotion again. Mayer later took part in senior competitions with the BG 74. She is Finja Schaake's godmother .
