Finja Schaake (born July 23, 1992 in Marburg ) is a German national basketball player .
Basketball career
The 1.79 m tall winger played at TSV Grünberg since she was a teenager . With Grünberg she won the German Championships in 2008 in the U16 , 2009 in the U18 age group and 2011 in the U19 age group.
In the seasons 2009/10 and 2010/2011 Finja Schaake played with a double license not only for her home club Bender Baskets Grünberg in the 2nd women's basketball league , but also in the 1st women's basketball league at BC Marburg . With the BC Marburg, she reached third place in the German championship in 2010 and in the German Cup in 2011. She and Marburg received bronze in the German championship in 2012, 2016 and 2017 as well as in the 2019 Cup. In 2018, she reached the final of the European club competition CEWL with Marburg, but lost there.
In 2020 she moved within the Bundesliga to TK Hannover and took up a position as a high school teacher in the capital of Lower Saxony.
National team
In the national teams of the German Basketball Federation, Finja Schaake was used in the age groups U16, U18 and U20. In 2012 Finja Schaake was appointed to the senior national team. She played her first international game on May 26, 2012 in Kienbaum in the 67-86 defeat against Serbia.
