Samir Ali Hadji (born September 12, 1989 in Creutzwald ) is a French - Moroccan football player who has been playing for the Belgian second division club Royal Excelsior Virton since summer 2019 . He is the son of the former Moroccan international Mustapha Hadji .

Career

societies

Samir Hadji played in his youth in the club of his hometown Kreuzwald. Later he was also active in the youth of the German club 1. FC Saarbrücken , where his father also played as a professional. In 2007 he joined the first team of Saarbrücken, which at the time belonged to the fourth-class league . Hadji made his debut for the first team on March 22, 2008, when he was substituted on in the 87th minute for Florian Hornig in the Oberliga game against the second team of 1. FC Kaiserslautern (1: 1). On April 5, 2008 Hadji came on against Saarland local rivals FC Homburg in the 78th minute, when the score was 0: 1, for Jonathan Zydko and made it 1: 1 five minutes later (that was also the final score of the game).

However, that was his last game for 1. FC Saarbrücken. He was no longer used until the end of the season. Even in the first half of the following season, Hadji should no longer be used. He therefore moved back to France in January 2009 and went to the first division club AS Nancy , where his uncle Youssef Hadji was also playing at the time .

In Nancy, however, he was only used in the reserve team. While he came to 17 missions (seven hits) in his first half year, Hadji came in his first full season to 32 appearances in the reserve team. In these 32 missions he got eleven hits.

In 2010 he went to the then third division Racing Strasbourg . For the 2011/12 season Hadji moved to Morocco to Hassania d'Agadir . After just one season he returned to Europe and signed with the Luxembourg first division club CS Fola Esch . In the 2012/13 season he scored six goals in 24 games and celebrated the first championship in 83 years with Fola under coach Jeff Strasser . At the end of the 2018/19 season he was the top scorer in the BGL Ligue with 23 goals . He was also voted Tageblatt Footballer of the Year by Luxembourg's second largest daily newspaper, the Tageblatt .

On June 11, 2019, the Belgian second division promoted Royal Excelsior Virton announced the commitment of the striker.
