Youssef Hadji , also Yossouf Hadji ( Central Atlas Tamazight ⵢⵓⵙⵓⴼ ⵃⴰⴷⵊⵉ Yusuf Ḥadji ; born February 25, 1980 in Ifrane ) is a former French-Moroccan football player .

Birth and childhood

Hadji was born in the Moroccan city of Ifrane . He and his family emigrated to France at an early age and settled in the small town of Creutzwald in Lorraine .

Career

society

Youssef Hadji started his career at AS Nancy in 1998 . With this club he rose from Division 1 in 2000. After several times the recovery failed, he changed the club. He forced promotion again when he hired the then first division club SC Bastia . When he was relegated from the first division with this club in 2005, he moved to Stade Rennes , with whom he also played in the European Cup. After two years, Hadji returned to AS Nancy, who now played in the first division themselves. He left Nancy for the second time in four years. This time Hadji switched back to Stade Rennes.

In the summer of 2013 he moved to the Turkish Süper Lig to Sanica Boru Elazığspor . Here he was only used six times in the league, so that he left the club after only one season in the summer of 2014. Hadji moved to his former club AS Nancy.

National team

From 2003 to 2012, Hadji played for Morocco's senior team .

Personal

Youssef Hadji is married and has two daughters. He also has a nephew named Samir Hadji (the son of Mustapha Hadji ). Both played together at AS Nancy between 2009 and 2010. Samir Hadji only played in the reserve team.

Hadji is a citizen of France and Morocco.
