Cornelia Tomerius

Cornelia Tomerius (* 1974 in Dessau , née Jeske) is a German journalist and book author. She writes on social and travel topics, with a focus on Istanbul .

Career

Tomerius studied sociology, journalism and English in Göttingen and Leipzig . She has lived as a freelance journalist in Berlin since 2001 and writes reports mainly for Merian , the Frankfurter Rundschau and the Berliner Zeitung .

Publications and reception

Together with Grit Hartmann and Jens Weinreich , Cornelia Tomerius (under her maiden name Jeske) presented a history of the Leipzig Central Stadium in 2003 with the title Stadium Stories 1863-2012: Leipzig between Gymnastics Festival, Traumarena and Olympia , which describes the history of the Central Stadium (see Zentralstadion Leipzig (1956 ) and Zentralstadion Leipzig (2004) ). It followed in 2004 with the same co-authors a book about the scandals of the Olympic application: Operation 2012 - Leipzig's German Olympic trip . Not an easy book, but an informative one. Cornelia Tomerius became known as a travel book author in 2008 with A Year in Istanbul: Journey into Everyday Life . The reader learns a lot about the not easy life in the metropolis ”.
