Cornelius Fuscus
Cornelius Fuscus was a Roman from a senatorial family in the second half of the 1st century.
Cornelius Fuscus struck despite his origins from the senatorial rank, which he gave up, a career as a knight . In 68 he made his hometown switch to Galba's side . In gratitude, he was appointed procurator of the province of Illyricum by Galba . After Galba's fall, he joined Vespasian during the turmoil of the Four Imperial Year 69 . In Ravenna stationed fleet chose him after their drop from Vitellius to her prefect . During Domitian's reign he was made Praetorian prefect and was a member of the emperor's advisory group. In 86/87 he commanded an army fighting the Dacians under their king Decebalus , who inflicted a devastating defeat on him at the beginning of the Dacian wars , and fell against them. Martial (6.76) wrote a funerary poem for him.
