Cornelius of Burgundy
Cornelius von Burgund , also called Corneille de Bourgogne and Cornelis van Beveren (* around 1420 ; † May 16, 1452 in the Battle of Bazel near Rupelmonde ) was an illegitimate son of Philip the Good , Duke of Burgundy , and Catherine Schaers. He carried the title "Grand Bâtard de Bourgogne" and was lord of Beveren and Vlissingen as well as governor and captain general of the Duchy of Luxembourg .

Cornelius of Burgundy fell in the "Battle of Bazel" near Rupelmonde and was buried in the Cathedral of Brussels . His successor in title and ownership was his younger half-brother Anton .
