Cornelius von Danckelmann

Johann Wilhelm Franz Cornelius Baron von Danckelmann (born October 9, 1789 in Lodersleben ; † September 12, 1859 in Olomouc ) was Austrian major general .

Life

He came from the the baron raised noble family Danckelmann on Lodersleben and the son of Prussian Governing Council and inheritance, reclining and court gentleman on Lodersleben is Ludwig Philipp Gottlob Freiherr von Danckelmann and his second wife, Cornelia Helena born Baumgardt. Among his numerous noble godparents there are also some middle-class people from Haarlem (Netherlands), London (Great Britain) and Calcutta (India), who, however, could not be present in person due to the long travel time. In contrast to his parents and step-siblings, he did not enter the civil service, but went to the military, where he was promoted to major general in the Austrian army. As a colonel he was regiment commander in the Kuk Galizisches Ulanen-Regiment "Ritter von Brudermann" No. 1 from 1831 to 1838

In 1826 he married Katharina von Bartenstein . The son Cornelius, born in 1830, emerged from this marriage. and k. Rittmeister a. D. lived in Olomouc
