Cors y Gedol

The cairn of Cors y Gedol lies on the slopes of the Moelfre, on an irregular plateau near the coast, east of the dolmen of Dyffryn Ardudwy between Barmouth and Harlech in Gwynedd in Wales . The local name of the Neolithic complex is Coetan Arthur (not to be confused with the similar Arthur's Quoit in Pembrokeshire ).

It is a damaged portal tomb in the remains of a cairn originally around 26.0 meters long, with a slightly overturned capstone measuring about 3.6 × 3.0 m, 0.45 m thick, which leans on two small supporting stones. Most of the cairn material has been removed. The system was sketched by William Stukeley (1687–1765).

There are other Neolithic megalithic complexes in this area including the Tomb Gwern Einion and Dyffryn Ardudwy and Meini Hirion portal .
