Cory Parr (born November 2, 1987 in Jericho , New York ) is a retired American tennis player .

Career

Cory Parr graduated from Wake Forest University from 2006 to 2009 , where he was very successful in college tennis . Nationally he was together with Steven Forman in first place in the double ranking of students. During his time as a student he already took part in professional tournaments and won a double title in this tournament category on the third-class ITF Future Tour in 2007 and 2008.

In 2009 he won six doubles titles, ending the year in the top 400 of the tennis world rankings . He also won first matches on the higher endowed ATP Challenger Tour . The year 2010 continued with similar success, with four more titles to follow. In the singles with rank 779 and in doubles with rank 272 he reached his career high in the summer. Shortly afterwards, however, he took part in tournaments less and less, so that he was passed through in the ranking. His only appearance on the ATP World Tour in August 2011 was also his last professional match. At the side of Treat Huey they won against the Austrians Julian Knowle and Oliver Marach , but had to admit defeat in the quarterfinals.

In 2017 Parr returned to his university and works there as an assistant trainer.
