The film shows how the trained Australian Shepherds Stub, Queenie and Shorty keep a stray Brahman bull at bay so that he doesn't tear down purebred Hereford cattle anymore. This breed of dog was bred specifically for herding work and needs a lot of exercise to be busy. Not only do they quickly acquire tracking skills, they are also very capable of learning and receptivity.
