William Lava

William Lava (born March 18, 1911 in Saint Paul , Minnesota , † February 20, 1971 in Los Angeles ) was an American film composer and arranger .

Life

Lava attended Von Humboldt Grammar School and Lane Tech High School in Chicago and then Northwestern University . He studied conducting with Albert Coates in Los Angeles. He worked for Warner Bros. , Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies from 1962 to 1969 , replacing the late Milt Franklyn .

His work as a film composer encompasses more than 500 productions, mainly short films.
