Beyond the Line of Duty is an American short film from the year 1942 provided by Warner Bros. in collaboration with the US Army Air Forces was produced.

The film describes the experiences of Captain Hewett T. Wheless of the US Army. Wheless worked on a ranch before the war began. He enrolled in the Army and began training. The documentation follows the training up to the first command Wheless'. He was used as a bomber pilot in the Pacific War. On a mission he came across 18 Japanese Zero type fighter planes . However, Wheless was able to return to base with his badly hit machine. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross .
