The Rogalin Castle ( Polish : Pałac w Rogalinie ) is a castle south of Poznan in Rogalin .

history

The castle was built from 1770 for Kazimierz Raczyński from the Raczyński magnate family . He commissioned Domenico Merlini and Johann Christian Kamsetzer with the construction. A baroque garden was laid out at the castle . Edward Raczyński , the builder's grandson, had Francesco Maria Lanci build a mausoleum with a church for his family in the park at the beginning of the 19th century . The Polish president-in-exile Edward Raczyński was buried in the mausoleum .

The castle is now a branch of the Poznan National Museum . Over 300 paintings from the Raczyńskis' collection are on display.
