The Cosna River is an approx. 70 km long left tributary of the Tanana River in the interior of Alaska .

The headwaters of the river are in the Kuskokwim Mountains . It flows northeast to its confluence with the Tanana River 37 km southwest of Manley Hot Springs . The Cosna River is part of the river system of the Yukon River .

The name goes back to the name of the Tanana , a people of the indigenous people of Alaska , documented by Lieutenant JS Herron in 1899 for the river.
