The Counts Icefall is a steep, heavily jagged glacier break at the interface between the Ford Massif and the Bermel Escarpment in the West Antarctic Thiel Mountains .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1962 after Lieutenant Commander William D. Counts of the United States Navy , who was killed with four other passengers in the crash of a Lockheed P-2 shortly after taking off from Wilkes Station on November 9, 1961 Life had come.
