The County Ground or 1st Central County Ground is a cricket - Stadium in the English town of Hove . The stadium serves as the home of the Sussex County Cricket Club .
history
The playing area is located on a former barley field that was acquired by the County Cricket Club in 1871 and converted into a cricket field. The first game took place here in 1872 against Kent .
Capacity and infrastructure
The stadium currently has a capacity of 7,000 seats and is equipped with eight floodlight masts. The two ends are called Cromwell Road End and Sea End .

In addition to being used in county cricket, an international game has been played here once. A preliminary round match was played here at the 1999 Cricket World Cup .
