Norman K. Ferguson

Norman K. Ferguson (born May 2, 1901 in St. Esprit , Nova Scotia , † August 24, 1987 in Hanover , Maine ) was an American politician who was Maine State Treasurer from 1969 to 1974 .

Life

Norman K. Ferguson was born in St. Esprit, Nova Scotia.

He exercised a variety of different professions, worked as a chauffeur, construction worker, insurance agent and as a worker in the Oxford Paper Company in Rumford . As a member of the Republican Party , he was elected to the Maine House of Representatives in 1952 and 1954 , and then for four terms in the Maine Senate . His son Norman K. Fergusson jr. was a Senator from Maine. He was Maine State Treasurer from 1969 to 1974 and from 1951 to 1984 Selectman of the Town of Hanover . He was a delegate to the Republican National Convention from Maine in 1960 and 1972.

Ferguson married Hazel Merrill in 1932 and had a son and four daughters with her. He died in 1987. His grave is in Hanover Cemetery, Hanover.
