Jerrold Speers

Jerrold Bond Speers (* 1942 in Maine ) is an American lawyer and politician who was Maine State Treasurer from 1979 to 1980 .

Life

Jerrold Speers was born to Ronald T. Speers and Shirley Helen Bond.

Speers attended Phillips Exeter Academy , then studied at Colby College and Georgetown University Law Center and made in 1966 a Bachelor of Laws . He then worked in the law firm of Ralph M. Clark in Gardiner .

As a member of the Republican Party , he was Secretary of the Maine Senate from 1969 to 1970 . In 1979 he ran for governor of Maine against the Democrat Joseph E. Brennan . He lost the election and was elected Maine State Treasurer for 1979 and 1980.

Jerrold Speers is married to Elizabeth Speers.
