David Lemoine

David George Lemoine (born May 25, 1957 in Waterville , Maine ) is an American lawyer and politician who was Maine State Treasurer from 2005 to 2010 .

Life

David Lemoine was born in Waterville in 1957 to George Macalese Lemoine, a veteran of the Korean War, and Margaret Marden Lemoine, who grew up on a potato farm . He graduated from Waterville High School in 1975 and attended Colby College , from which he graduated with an administration degree in 1979.

He then worked in the office of Senator Edmund Muskie until he became Secretary of State for the United States in May 1980. Lemoine continued to work in the office of Muskie's successor, George J. Mitchell . He then attended the University of Maine Law School, which he finished in 1988. He then worked as a lawyer in York County .

A member of the Democratic Party , he was a member of the Maine House of Representatives and was Maine Treasurer from 2005 to 2010.

David Lemoine is married to Karen Kane Lemoine and they have two children.
