Maine State Treasurer
The Maine State Treasurer is one of the constitutional offices of the State of Maine .
This is regulated by Article V Part III of the Maine Constitution . The treasurer is elected at the beginning of the first session of the new Maine Legislature for a two-year term, along with the other Maine constitutional offices. The term of office is limited to four consecutive terms. The treasurer's duties include providing financial services to all government agencies, issuing bonds, and managing the government's debt. In addition, the custody of abandoned goods in order to return them to their rightful owners. The treasurer is ex officio a member of several government agencies and agencies.
