Rodney L. Scribner

Rodney Latham Scribner (born May 6, 1935 in Rumford , Maine ) is an American politician who was Maine State Treasurer from 1975 and Maine State Auditor from 1976 to 1977 and again in 1987 .

Life

Rodney L. Scribner was born in Rumford. He attended Norway High School, which he finished in 1953. In the same year he moved to the Maine Maritime Academy. There he completed a degree in marine science and was an ensign in the United States Navy Reserve . from 1956 to 1958 he served in the Navy. He then worked as a deck officer on an oil tanker. He was studying accounting on the side, and when he finished his military service in December 1962, he was working for an accounting firm in Portland .

As a member of the Democratic Party , he was a member of the Maine House of Representatives from 1967 to 1968 . He was Deputy Commissioner, later Commissioner of the Maine Department of Finance and Administration, State Controller, State Budget Officer and in 1975 Maine State Treasurer and from 1976 to 1977 and again in 1987 Maine State Auditor.

Rodney L. Scribner was married to Evelyn Scribner. The marriage ended in divorce in 1993.
