Armand G. Sansoucy

Armand G. Sansoucy (born January 7, 1910 in Auburn , Maine , † August 28, 1983 in Lewiston , Maine) was an American politician who was Mayor of Lewiston from 1949 to 1950 and Maine State Auditor from 1965 to 1969 .

Life

Armand G. Sansoucy was born in Auburn, the son of Napoleon Joseph and Lauza Baron Sansoucy. He attended Jordan High School and the Bentley School of Accounting. From 1937 he worked for a finance company for a few years.

As a member of the Democratic Party , he was Alderman of Lewiston from 1945 and was elected mayor of Lewiston in 1949. He held this office until 1950. He was a Lewiston Auditor from 1953 to 1964 and a Maine State Auditor from 1965 to 1969. He then served as a business economist auditor for the Maine Liquor Commission from 1969 until he retired in 1974. Sansoucy was a member of the Musical Literary Club, Mrs. Maurer Brotherhood of the Elks Lodge .

Armand G. Sansoucy married Venise Leblanc in 1934. They had a daughter. He died on August 28, 1983, and his grave is in Saint Peters Cemetery in Lewiston.
