The Phillips Exeter Academy ( Exeter , Phillips Exeter or PEA for short ) is an independent mixed boarding school for grades 9 to 12. The school is located in Exeter, New Hampshire , USA , approximately 80 kilometers north of Boston .
The school is very prestigious in the United States and has over $ 902 million in funding , which allows the school to provide generous scholarships. The school has an unofficial relationship with Harvard University and many students enroll at the well-known university.
Over 80% of the students ( Exonians ) live on the school premises and the remaining 20% come from the surrounding area. The school has also been open to girls since 1970.
