The Court Tomb of Teergonean is located in the townland of the same name ( Irish Tír Ghamhainín ) near Doolin ( Dúlainn ), west of Lisdoonvarna in the Burren in County Clare in Ireland . Court Tombs are among the megalithic chamber tombs ( English chambered tombs ) of the British Isles . With around 400 specimens, they are found almost exclusively in Ulster in the north of Ireland or in Northern Ireland .

The only partially preserved Court Tomb near the sea consists of two large chambers and the remains of the courtyard, the large portal stones of which and the left part of the exedra have been preserved. Teergonean, along with Ballyganner North, Parknabinnia in County Clare and Shanballyedmond in County Tipperary, is one of the four atypical court tombs, but its use at the same time as the other court tombs in Ireland between 3700 and 3570 BC. Seems to have started and to the five southernmost plants of this type.
