The Covenant University is a private Nigerian University on Canaanland in Ota in the state of Ogun . It was created as a foundation by the Winners' Chapel Church (Living Faith Church) and was established in 2002. In 2006, 4,198 students were enrolled.

The rector of the university, David Oyedepo, is also the president, founder and bishop of the Winners' Chapel. The university is run strictly according to Evangelical- Christian principles. According to Oyedepo's founding vision, it should bring up a new generation of managers” . In the summer of 2007, the university administration was forced by the Nigerian government to abolish mandatory HIV / AIDS and pregnancy tests as a prerequisite for enrollment . There was also controversy in 2012 about numerous de-registrations due to not attending a church service. According to Covenant University, qualified students of any religious background are admitted, provided they comply with the rules, including regular church services.

The university buildings are located in Canaanland, which is also the headquarters of the Winners' Chapel Church. There are three college buildings divided into 20 departments.
