Tim Janssen (born March 6, 1986 in Eindhoven ) is a Dutch football player . The striker has been under contract with the Danish first division club FC Midtjylland since 2011 .
His father is the former professional footballer Willy Janssen .
Career
society
Janssen comes from the youth forge at PSV Eindhoven . For the 2004/05 season he was part of the PSV professional squad . But already in the previous year he made his debut for the first team. On July 30, 2003 he was substituted on in the friendly against Crystal Palace in the 85th minute against Arjen Robben . In order to give him match practice, the club decided to loan him to FC Zwolle during the 2004/05 winter break . There he made his competitive debut in professional football. An injury in May 2005 set his development back. In the summer he left the second division and moved to FC Eindhoven . There he should gain another year of experience. After he was able to cure his injuries, he made his debut for FCE on December 2, 2005 against his ex-club FC Zwolle . However, there was no return to PSV after this season. For the 2006/07 season, the RKC Waalwijk secured the services of the winger. There Janssen was top performers, but could not avert relegation from the Eredivisie despite ten goals . In 2007/08 he made two more games for Waalwijk, but moved to NEC Nijmegen on the last day of the transfer window . After two years in Nijmegen, Janssen moved to Esbjerg fB in the Danish Super League . At the end of the 2010/11 season Esbjerg rose to the second division and Janssen signed with FC Midtjylland .
National team
Janssen was a national player for the U-21 national team of the Netherlands . He was previously in other youth teams in the Netherlands. With the Jong Oranje he won the U-21 European Football Championship in 2007 . He was substituted on in the semi-finals against England . After a 1-1 draw after extra time, the penalty shoot-out had to decide. The Dutch won with 13:12. Janssen had to start from the point twice as some players had to shoot twice. Both times he sank the ball in the net. Overall, he was substituted on twice during this tournament.
