The Cox Nunatak is a 795 m high nunatak in Queen Elizabeth Land in West Antarctica . In the northeastern part of the Dufek massif in the Pensacola Mountains, it rises 1.5 km south of Rankine Rock .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it based on its own surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1955 to 1966. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1968 after Walter M. Cox, photographer of the team at Ellsworth Station in the Antarctic winter 1957.
