Craig A. Anderson

Craig A. Anderson (* 1952 ) is an American psychologist .

After a BA (1976) at Butler University , Anderson made his MA and 1980 his PhD at Stanford University . He then taught at Rice University , interrupted by a visiting professorship at Ohio State University (1984/85). In 1988 he moved to the University of Missouri . Anderson has been a professor at Iowa State University since 1999 , where he heads the Department of Psychology.

His research on the effects of fictional violence , such as the influence of video games on children, is controversial.

He is a fellow of the American Psychological Society and the American Psychological Association . Anderson is also a member of the Executive Council of the International Society for Research on Aggression.
