Craig Leon Eastmond (born December 9, 1990 in Wandsworth ) is an English football player . The defender and midfielder made his debut in the Premier League in 2009 .

Career

Eastmond joined at the age of eleven years by the Youth Department of Millwall FC for Arsenal FC . There he went through the individual youth teams and initially established himself as a midfielder . In 2009 he won the FA Youth Cup with the youth team after a 6-2 final success against the youth of Liverpool FC , where he used the full-back position as a regular player not missed a minute of the game.

In October 2009, Eastmond made his debut on the occasion of a game in the Carling Cup against Liverpool in the professional team of the London club, following the game coach Arsène Wenger commented positively about the player. After his second appearance with the pros was also a league cup game - a 3-0 defeat by Manchester City - he proved himself on December 30, 2009 in a 4-1 away win at Portsmouth FC for the first time in the league. Less than two weeks later, he signed a new long-term contract with the club. Until the end of the season he was used irregularly in the championship, as the young player was mainly used in the reserve team. While Alex Song was with the Cameroonian national team at the 2010 African Cup of Nations in January , he was in the starting line-up of the "Gunners" in two games.

Wenger mainly nominated him as a reserve player for the 2010/11 Champions League season . At the beginning of November he played for the first time in the European Cup in the 2-1 defeat at the Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk . He scored an own goal when he extended a free kick into his own net.

From the beginning of 2011, various loan deals followed for Eastmond, who otherwise mainly belonged to the reserve team of Arsenal FC. First he was loaned to his youth club Millwall FC on January 25, 2011 until the summer . On February 21, 2012 he was loaned to the Wycombe Wanderers until the end of the season, on September 27, 2012 to the end of the year at Colchester United . After the loan, he returned to Arsenal for half a year.

For the 2013-14 season, Eastman was permanently signed by Colchester United and signed a two-year contract. Here he was under coach Joe Dunne for long stretches a regular player and one of the guarantors of relegation in Football League One .
