Craig David Tanner (born October 27, 1994 in Reading ) is an English football player .

Career

Craig Tanner began his career with Reading FC in his hometown at the age of eight . Here he signed his first professional contract in 2011. Until 2014, however, he continued to play in the club's youth. On August 12, 2014, he made his professional debut for the club in the 1st round of the English League Cup against AFC Newport County when he came on for Nick Blackman . In the same game he also scored his first goal as a professional. Tanner had played four more competitive games by January 2015, after which the contract was extended to 2017. At the same time he was awarded for four months at the AFC Wimbledon in the 4th division . For the new 2015/16 season he was initially awarded to Plymouth Argyle until January 2016 . The loan was extended twice and ended after two years in May 2017. In June 2017, Tanner moved to the Scottish first division club FC Motherwell . In the very first season he reached the final of the Scottish League Cup with Motherwell , which was lost to Celtic Glasgow .
