Craig Matthew Thompson (born September 21, 1975 in Traverse City , Michigan ) is an American comic artist . Thompson was best known for his graphic novel blankets , which received the prize as "Comic of the Year" at the 2005 Frankfurt Book Fair .

life and work

Thompson received considerable attention with the release of his first album Good bye, Chunky Rice in 1999 and received a Harvey Award for "best new talent". His second work, Blankets , was also very well received by critics and readers in 2003: the album was published in German by Speed ​​Comics in 2004 .
