action

After Crash Dr. N. had defeated Cortex in part 2, his space station Cortex Vortex exploded. The remains landed on earth, awakening Aku Aku's evil twin brother Uka Uka. Uka Uka allied with Cortex and N. Tropy. Together they built a time machine in order to steal the gemstones and crystals that Crash had collected in the 2nd part in the past. To prevent this, Crash and his younger sister Coco have to use the time machine to collect all the gems, crystals and relics. The game ends with a final battle against Cortex and Uka Uka and they are caught as toddlers along with N. Tropy in the Stone Age.

Game setup

There are six warp rooms that allow you to jump in time. In each warp room there are six levels, five of which are ordinary levels, one level is with boss combat. After winning a boss fight you get new skills. To reach the sixth warp room, you need five relics, which you get by completing levels faster than certain given times. Then a platform appears in the middle of all warp rooms, which teleports Crash to the sixth warp room. To unlock further levels , you have to collect five relics in each level. In the sixth warp room there are only five levels without a boss fight. There are still two secret levels in the game that can only be reached if you meet certain requirements in the third warp room at level number 14 and at level number 11. There are a total of 45 gems, of which 42 are in the normal levels, two of them in the secret levels and you get one when you have collected 44 gems and all relics in gold. There are a total of 30 relics, two of them in the secret levels and 28 in the normal levels. There are also 25 crystals. The last gemstone is obtained from Coco. If this was received, the credits come with fireworks and you have solved the game to 105%. There is still the possibility to collect all relics in platinum. In the European version, the times required for this are only available after defeating the final boss Dr. Neo Cortex will be displayed after completing 100% of the game. However, this does not change the percentage of 105 that can be achieved.
