Michael "Mike" John Lockwood (born August 25, 1971 in Anaheim , California , † November 6, 2003 in Navarre , Florida ) was an American wrestler . He gained greater fame under the ring name Crash Holly in the World Wrestling Federation .

Wrestling

Lockwood made his professional debut in 1989 and was active for Bay Area wrestling until 1994 . At that time he was called Johnny Pearson . In 1996 Lockwood moved to All Pro Wrestling , where he got the name Erin O'Grady . In 1999 he went to what was then WWF (now WWE), where he, now under the ring name Crash Holly , appeared according to the storyline as the cousin of Hardcore Holly . In the next few years he was able to win the WWF Hardcore Championship 22 times due to the 24/7 rule . Lockwood was also able to hold the WWF European Championship , WWF Light Heavyweight Championship and the WWF Tag Team Championships (with Hardcore Holly). After his release from WWE in July 2003, Lockwood made appearances for TNA and several independent leagues.

Mike Lockwood died on November 6, 2003 at Stevie Richards' home . He had initially lost consciousness due to an overdose of the drug Carisoprodol in combination with alcohol and finally choked on his own vomit. Due to the amount of empty pain reliever packaging found on him, the form of death was officially reported as suicide. Due to personal problems, Lockwood was considered very depressed in the last weeks of his life.
