The Credito privato Commerciale SA (Société Anonyme) was one of the asset management specialist Swiss private bank based in Lugano .
The company was founded in 1973 as a finance company and initially specialized in financing . From 1991 the activities were increasingly shifted towards asset management. After the Swiss Federal Banking Commission granted Credito privato commerciale SA its license as a securities dealer in 2000 and four years later as a bank , the company was converted into a bank in 2004.
The bank, which is geared towards private banking , employed around 35 people and had total assets of 222.2 million francs as of mid-2009 and client assets of almost 1.3 billion francs at the end of 2008.
At an extraordinary general meeting on June 8, 2012, the voluntary dissolution and liquidation of the company was resolved.
Ownership
Since 2001, Credito privato commerciale SA has been majority owned by the Gavazzi and Lado families from Desio in Italy and their descendants through indirect holdings . The bank was wholly owned by the Luxembourg- based “Brianfid Lux SA”. This in turn was a wholly owned subsidiary of the listed “Banco di Desio e della Brianza SpA” in Desio, which in turn was 51.57 percent owned by the family company “Brianza Unione di Luigi Gavazzi & Co SpA”.
The "Banco di Desio e della Brianza" was founded in 1909 as a cooperative with the participation of the Gavazzi family. With the transformation of the bank into a stock corporation in 1926, the Gavazzi family initially became significant minority and later majority shareholders. As part of an expansion strategy, the “Banco di Desio e della Brianza” took over Credito privato commerciale SA in 2001 and incorporated it into its group structure.
