Creedence Clearwater Revisited is an American rock band . It was created by the two former Creedence Clearwater Revival members Doug Clifford and Stu Cook, who founded the group as a cover band.
history
After separating from Creedence Clearwater Revival in 1972, bassist Stu Cook and drummer Doug "Cosmo" Clifford pursued various other projects. In 1995 they were persuaded by Elliot Easton (guitar) and John Tristao (vocals) to do a CCR cover band. What was intended as a small, short-lived project for private parties quickly grew into a popular touring band. Soon Creedence Clearwater Revisited had more than 100 appearances a year.
To this day, Creedence Clearwater Revisited perform with success. Although it is often criticized that the band is no more than a "jukebox", Creedence Clearwater Revisited sees itself not only as a cover band, but as a legitimate continuation of the group at that time. In 1998 the live album Recollection was released on the Varese label , which contains a concert recording on two CDs. Around the same time, John Fogerty brought out his own live album with the old CCR hits.
