Creflo dollars
Creflo Augustus Dollar (born January 28, 1962 ) is an American television preacher and founder of the World Changers Church International . He received global attention when he called on his community to help him financially in the purchase of a $ 60 million private jet.
Life
He is a minister at World Changers Church International in Fulton County, Georgia . Every week more than 18,000 people follow his lectures live on site, as well as another 8 million people worldwide via his TV broadcasts. In Germany it can currently be received weekly on the CNBC Europe channel, among others .
Finances
Dollar preaches the so-called prosperity gospel . He owns two Rolls-Royces , a private jet, and real estate (e.g. in Atlanta, Georgia) , Demarest, New Jersey, and Manhattan . He later sold the Manhattan property for $ 3.75 million in 2012. Dollar declined to publish its earnings. Creflo Dollar Ministries were rated "F" (for failure) for financial transparency by Ministry Watch .
criticism
The journalist Jonathan Fischer wrote in 2005 in the SZ among other things: "The gospel of Dr. Creflo Dollar can be summarized in two core statements. First: God wants you to be rich. Second: Only those who give can also receive. In his television sermons Dollar scatters a series of vague and out of context Bible quotes, all of which have to do with sowing and reaping, evaporation and rain, as metaphors for giving money and the divine blessings that follow. "
In March 2015, he called for the Project G650 to donate $ 65 million to buy a Gulfstream G650 private jet . After the appeal attracted international attention, it took the project website offline again. However, he defended his claim to a luxury jet and later said that if life were discovered on Mars, he would ask God for a billion dollar space shuttle to preach there.
