Ulrich P. Ecker

Ulrich Peter Ecker (born March 30, 1951 in Duisburg ) is a German historian and archivist .

Ulrich P. Ecker studied Romance studies and history in Düsseldorf , Montpellier and Freiburg . After completing his doctorate in medieval history in Freiburg in 1981, he completed his training as a senior archive service. From 1983 on, Ecker worked in the Freiburg City Archives , which he headed from 2002 to 2016. As a lecturer, Ecker teaches at the Center for Key Qualifications at the University of Freiburg , and at times he also held a teaching position at the Administration and Business Academy .

Ecker is the author of publications on the history of the city of Freiburg and the history of southwest Germany and the publisher of publications from the archive of the city of Freiburg i. Br. From 1994 to 2007 Ecker was the editor of the magazine of the Breisgau history association "Schau-ins-Land" .

From 1999 to 2010 he was chairman of the Breisgau history association Schau-ins-Land . In 2009 he was appointed a member of the Alemannic Institute in Freiburg . He is also a member of the working group for urban history research.

In his free time, Ecker is an artist. Ecker is married and has one son.
