Creole - Global Music Contest

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Creole - Global Music Contest is a music competition for the world music scene in Germany .

history

The competition was launched in 2006 by the Werkstatt der Kulturen and is held every two years. German music groups in the world music scene are initially competing at state level in preliminary rounds in currently nine federal states. The three winners of each of these regional competitions (preliminary rounds) will be invited to the national competition or the final.

The aim of the competition is to help the musicians and groups of the world music scene in Germany to become more popular and to recognize current trends in world music in Germany. Organizers, music producers, labels and media representatives should also be addressed in particular.

In addition, the event sees itself as a platform for the world music scene in Germany, which cultivates the exchange with the participating musicians and expands contact beyond the finals. For example, participating artists can be booked for performances through the event.
