Stanley Clare Pearson (born January 11, 1919 in Salford , England, † February 17, 1997 in Alderley Edge , Cheshire ) was an English football player .
Career
The Englishman was signed as an amateur by Manchester United in 1935 . In 1937 Pearson got a professional contract with the Red Devils. He made his debut against Chesterfield FC in 1937. During World War II , he served in the British Army. He was the English cup winner in 1948 and English champion in 1953. He ended his career in 1953 after the title. In ManUtd's all-time goalscoring list, Pearson is tenth with 148 goals, just two goals behind Ruud van Nistelrooy .
