Crepis fraasii is a species of plant from the genus Pippau ( Crepis ) in the sunflower family (Asteraceae).

Crepis fraasii is a perennial rhizome geophyte that reaches heights of 6 to 50 centimeters. The rhizome is dark, strong, horizontal to oblique and looks bitten off. The basal leaves are lyre-shaped and pinnate. Their terminal leaflets are broadly obovate and serrate at a distance, the lateral leaflets are broad, blunt or pointed. The shell is 8 to 11 millimeters in size. At its base it is thin-felted and has few, spread glandular hairs. The outer bracts are 8 to 11, rarely up to 14 millimeters long, lanceolate and pointed. They are 0.5 to 0.25 times as long as the inner bracts. The fruits are dark brown, spindle-shaped and usually have 15 to 20, rarely 13 or 14 ribs or stripes.

The flowering period extends from April to August.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 12.

Occurrence

Crepis fraasii occurs in the north-eastern Mediterranean , namely in Greece, Crete, the Aegean, Turkey and Cyprus.
