Crepis tybakiensis is a species of plant from the genus Pippau ( Crepis ) in the sunflower family (Asteraceae).

features

Crepis tybakiensis is an annual stem therophyte that reaches heights of 5 to 15 centimeters. The numerous stems are unbranched, ascending and one-headed. The numerous basal sheets are up to 70 millimeters long and oblong to obverse-shaped-lanceolate. Their lateral leaflets are triangular-pointed and serrated, the terminal leaflet is egg-shaped. The stem leaves are bract-like. The shell is 6 to 12 millimeters in size. The inner bracts are 6 to 12 millimeters long, the outer ones are only a third as long and triangular. The outer fruits are 6 to 8 millimeters in size and strongly curved. Their ribs are densely spiky and dark and their beak of the same length. The inner fruits are 10 to 12 millimeters in size. They have 10 prickly ribs. Their beak is 2.5 times as long.

The flowering period extends from April to May.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 10.

Occurrence

Crepis tybakiensis occurs in the southern Kardägäis . The species grows in rocky phrygana as well as on rocks. In Crete it can be found at altitudes from 0 to 1600 meters.
