River course

The river has its source on the southern slopes of Mount Aldebaran in the Arthur Range in the center of Southwest National Park . From there it first flows northwest to Sculptured Mountain in the White Monolith Range , where the Dodds River flows into it. There the Crossing River turns its course to the southwest to the Davey Sugarloaf . North of this mountain it turns again to the northwest and flows west of Green Head (also a mountain in the White Monolith Range) into the Davey River .
