Cruciamentum is an English death metal band that was formed in 2005.
history
The band was formed in 2005. At the end of 2008 a permanent line-up had been found, consisting of founding member Daniel "DL" Lowndes (electric guitar, vocals), bassist BC and drummer Dani "DB-H." Ben-Haim. After the release of the second demo Convocation of Crawling Chaos , Roland "RC" C. joined the band as the second guitarist. After that, the group performed live for the first time. After the band had signed a contract with the Greek label Nuclear Winter Records , the EP Engulfed in Desolation was released in 2011 . In 2015, the debut album Charnel Passages was released , which was recorded and mixed with producer Gred Chandler in the Priory Recording Studio in Birmingham within three weeks . The mastering and preproduction was done by Lowndes.
style
On her Myspace page, Cruciamentum named bands like Incantation , Demigod , Abhorrence , Rottrevore , Necros Christos , Immolation and Morbid Angel as influences. In an interview with Sebastian Schilling from Rock Hard , Lowndes stated that he wrote a large part of the riffs and then sent them to the other members in order to work out the songs with them. Overall, there was a closer collaboration between the members for the debut album than with the previous recordings. Schilling had reviewed the album an issue earlier. This is followed by Death Metal in the style of Morbid Angel and Incantation, although their style sounds more controlled. The use of synthesizers is also characteristic, which is reminiscent of Morbid Angel interludes or soundtracks from Doom or Quake .
