The Cruise Nunatak is an icy nunatak around 1500 m high in the East Antarctic Mac Robertson Land . It rises 19 km east of the Hay Hills in Mawson Escarpment .
Aerial photographs were taken in 1956 and 1960 during campaigns by the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions . The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named it in 1973 after John Oliver Cruise (* 1936), who was involved in the establishment of a radiation laboratory at Mawson Station in 1971 .
