Crumbsuckers was an American crossover band from Long Island , New York that was formed in 1982 and split again in 1989.

history

The band was formed in 1982 by bassist Gary Meskil. The group was initially a party band that played covers of Minor Threat , Bad Brains, and Kraut . The position of the singer usually changed from appearance to appearance. In June 1983 she recorded the demo The Crumbsucker Cave , which also featured a cover version of Chubby Checker's " The Twist ".

In 1983 and 1984 the band wrote their debut album. Another demo was recorded in 1984. Singer David Brady left the band during this time and was replaced by Chris Notaro. A short time later she got a contract with Combat Records through the demo . In 1984, Chuck Lenihan became the second guitarist. The songs on the debut album Life of Dreams , released in 1986, were written by Gary Meskil and guitarist David Wynn.

In the spring of 1987 guitarist David Wynn left the band and was replaced by Matt Cardin. However, this did not last long. He wrote two songs for the second album and was replaced by Robert Koebler. In 1988 the album Beast on My Back was released. At the beginning of 1988 Marc Piovanetti, ex-member of Carnivore , replaced guitarist Koebler. In 1989 the band split.

After the separation

After the band split up, Gary Meskil, Marc Piovanetti, Chuck Lenihan and Dan Richardson formed the band Heavy Rain together with singer Craig Allen in 1990. In the same year the band broke up again, so that Gary Meskil and Dan Richardson formed the band Pro-Pain in 1991.
