Crusade is an Austrian death metal / metal band from Vienna .

history

The band was founded in the summer of 1997 by Martin Wagesreither, Marin Zwetkow and Stephan Beer, who had played together in the band Reborn Hate the year before. Bassist Alexander Meyer, who at the time was working for the Viennese band Endless Falling, was hired for her first appearance at the “Pop-Odrom”, an international band competition. Shortly afterwards, Alexander Meyer became a permanent member of the Crusade band. At the beginning of 1998 the first Crusade CD Further Down was released. This laid the first foundation stone, because the reviews were extremely positive. Nonetheless, the rest of the work was put on hold in the following year, because founding member Stephan Beer left the band for family reasons. The two founding members Martin Wagesreither and Marin Zwetkow tried it out with different musicians until 1999 a relatively stable line-up emerged again.

Martin Lugmayr ("Lugi", drums) and Andreas Riener (bass) completed the band in 1999. Numerous concerts through Austria followed, and the band worked on new songs. Shortly before the next recording in 2001, Martin Lugmayr left the band. Finding a suitable drummer turned out to be difficult. Finally, in 2002, Christoph Talos was hired as a drummer. For the next few years, the band did not miss any opportunity to be on stage and earned the reputation of an energetic live band. But not only on stage, they can also be heard on the screen when Crusade contributed a song to the debut of the independent feature film Benjamin's Party . In 2001, Crusade was interviewed by Belgian national television as part of a documentary about the first crucifixion and provides a song contribution for it.

In 2004 Crusade released her second work, the mini CD Loathed Resistance. In June 2004 Crusade supported Fear Factory . Burton C. Bell came on stage with Crusade to play an old Fear Factory song ( WOE ) with them. In the same year Alex Uitz took over the drums to replace Christoph Talos. In May 2006 they went back to the studio to work on new material. The album was released in early June 2007 under the title Resilience on Innovation / Rebeat.
