Crusoe is an American television series that premiered on October 17, 2008 on NBC . It was created by Stephen Gallagher and is loosely based on the novel Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe . The series consists of a season with 13 episodes, which, depending on the type of broadcast, can also be offset as 12 episodes with a 90-minute pilot film. Due to low ratings, it quickly became apparent that there would be no second season of the series and that it would be discontinued after its episodes aired. A German premiere took place on November 4, 2009 on the FOX Channel . The free TV broadcaster Super RTL took the show on October 29, 2010 in its program.
