Cryptopine is an opium alkaloid . It causes cramp symptoms in warm-blooded animals.

As a degradation product of the Cryptopins formed by oxidizing the Metahemipinsäure . By hydrochloric acid cryptopine suffers under water discharge easily intramolecular ring closure to give Isocryptopinchlorid forms.
