The Cubryńska Dziura I cave is a cave in the Cubryna massif above the Meerauge mountain lake in the Dolina Rybiego Potoku valley in the Polish High Tatras . There are two other caves nearby, Cubryńska Dziura II and Cubryńska Dziura III .

Location and description

The cave is approximately 27 meters long and approximately 11 meters deep. It has an opening at an altitude of 2000 meters above sea level. The cave has been known for a long time because its entrance is clearly visible from the red-marked hiking trail from the Dolina za Mnichem valley to the Wrota Chałubińskiego mountain pass . However, it was only described in 1999 by A. Lachiewicz and M. Pawlikowski.

etymology

The name Cubryńska Dziura I can be translated as Cubryna Hole I.

tourism

There is no hiking trail leading to the cave. A permit from the administration of the Tatra National Park is required to climb the Cubryna mountain and enter the cave .
